How to roll stats with 4d6 drop lowest
- Roll. Press Roll stats. Six scores are rolled, each from four d6 with the lowest die dropped (shown crossed out).
- Check the set. The total of all six scores and of all six modifiers appear under the list, which helps if your table has a minimum.
- Assign the scores. Pick which score goes to Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma.
- Print. Add a character name if you like and press Print stat sheet.
Prefer the harsher old-school method? Switch the method to 3d6 to roll three dice per score with nothing dropped. Ask your DM which method the table uses before you roll.

Rolling versus standard array and point buy
Rolling is one of three common ways to set ability scores. The standard array gives everyone 15, 14, 13, 12, 10 and 8. Point buy gives 27 points to spend on scores from 8 to 15. Rolling averages a little higher than both but can swing a long way either side, which some players love and some DMs limit with a reroll rule.
Printing the stat sheet
Press Print stat sheet to get a one-page sheet with the character name, each ability, its score and modifier, and the dice rolled. It prints in black and white on US Letter or A4. The sheet is made in your browser and is not saved, so print it before you roll again.
